About Sahi
Sahi checks what you write in Gmail, WhatsApp Web, Outlook and your own systems — and understands that "kindly revert", "10 lakh" and "prepone" are how a lot of India writes, not mistakes to be scrubbed out.
सही — sahi — correct, right, accurate. It is what a colleague says when they have read your draft and it holds up.
Millions of Indians write in English all day — emails to patients, WhatsApp messages to suppliers, discharge summaries, support replies, tender responses. Most of them are writing in their second or third language, at speed, with no one to check the draft.
The tools available to them were built somewhere else. They flag Indian English as wrong. They do not know what a crore is. They struggle with the Hinglish half the country actually types. And they send every keystroke to a server in another country — which for a hospital, a law firm or a bank is not a preference problem, it is a compliance one.
A tool that corrects your English but cannot be used on anything confidential is not much of a tool.
Please do the needful and revert on the ₹4 lakh invoice, we will prepone the meeting to Tuesday itself.
The judgement is the product. Anyone can flag every deviation from American English. Knowing which ones are actually mistakes is the hard part.
Sahi is available as an on-premise installation — the full checking engine on your own servers, working with no internet connection at all. For hospitals, legal teams, banks and government suppliers, that is the difference between being allowed to use a writing assistant and not. Nothing typed ever leaves the network.
A Chrome extension for Gmail, WhatsApp Web, Outlook and ordinary web forms. An Office add-in for Word and Outlook. An Android keyboard. And an embeddable widget that drops into your own applications — including hospital systems, where a discharge summary needs checking as much as an email does.
Rule-based checking runs first and handles most of the work. AI-assisted suggestions are a separate capability that an administrator can switch off entirely for the whole organisation, or for particular departments. You are not required to accept one to get the other.
Four levels of administration — platform, organisation owner, department manager, staff — with per-person keys, departmental scoping, usage caps and managed Chrome deployment across an estate. Rolling this out to four hundred people should not require visiting four hundred desks.
Sahi is built by Caresoft Systems Private Limited, a healthcare technology company headquartered in Mumbai. We have been building hospital information systems for over two decades — funded by our customers rather than by investors — and they run today in more than 1,000 hospitals across India and 12+ countries.
Sahi started as an internal problem. Our own support team writes hundreds of replies a day, in a mix of English and Hinglish, to hospital staff who deserve a clear answer. And our hospital customers kept asking for spell checking inside clinical text fields, where sending the text to an overseas service was never going to be acceptable. Building it for ourselves is why the on-premise option exists — it was a requirement, not a feature.
Certifications held by Caresoft Systems Private Limited CMMI Level 5 · ISO 27001 · PCI DSS — the engineering and information security standards our work is built to, and the practices Sahi is developed under.
